The assailant entered the Chabad Headquarters in New York City screaming, “I want to kill the Jew! I want to kill the Jew!”  He stabbed a young Israeli rabbinical student repeatedly in the neck and abdomen. Even so, the Rabbis tried desperately to save the attacker from being shot by police when they arrived, even as their own lives were also threatened.  They implored the attacker, Calvin Peters, to put down the knife and pleaded with police not to shoot.
